Structured grief intensives and workshops with space to learn, reflect, connect, and continue.

Carry Them Forward programs combine compassionate education, guided reflection, practical tools, and small-group connection. Each offering is designed to respect individual grief without comparing losses or forcing a single path.

The Grief Story

What happened, what changed, and what still feels hard to put into words.

Guilt and Permission

The tension between love, survival, joy, purpose, and continuing life.

The Nine-Week Grieving Forward Intensive

The intensive begins with a four-hour live virtual experience and continues with eight weekly 90-minute sessions. The nine-week format gives participants time to absorb the material, notice what emerges, receive continued support, and build a personal way of carrying forward.

What Makes the Program Different

  • Follow-through: the work continues for eight weeks after the intensive.

  • Loss-specific spaces: participants can join a cohort designed around a shared type of loss.

  • Small-group care: cohorts are intentionally kept personal and interactive.

  • No comparison: no loss is ranked, minimized, or measured against another.

  • Professional and personal grounding: the program is shaped by grief-informed clinical practice and lived experience.

Next Grieving Forward Intensive begins September 19, 2026

Intensives & Workshop Options

Adult Child Loss Intensive

For parents navigating the death of an adult child.

The death of a child changes the meaning of time, identity, family, and the future. This cohort creates a carefully held space for bereaved parents to speak honestly, honor their child, explore continuing bonds, and consider what it means to remain a parent in a changed relationship.

Sibling Loss Intensive

For adults grieving a brother or sister.

Sibling grief is often overlooked, even when the relationship shaped a lifetime. This cohort makes room for shared history, family roles, identity, complicated dynamics, and the unique experience of carrying a sibling relationship forward.

Navigating Loss Intensive

For adults living with other significant losses.

This cohort supports adults grieving a spouse or partner, parent, close friend, relative, or another deeply meaningful person. Participants receive the same Grieving Forward framework while having room for the specific story and impact of their loss.

Custom workshops for organizations

Carry Them Forward also offers grief-informed workshops for workplaces, professional associations, nonprofits, faith communities, veteran and military-connected organizations, and helping professionals.

Workshops can be adapted to the audience and may focus on supporting grieving employees, responding to bereavement with greater skill, continuing bonds, grief literacy, caregiver grief, or the Grieving Forward Method.

Program Fit Note

Grief is deeply personal, and no two people come into this program carrying the same story. We want to make sure the Grieving Forward Intensive feels like the right place for you and where you are in your grief.

After registration, each participant will receive a Loss Assessment. This gives us an opportunity to learn a little more about your loss, what you are carrying right now, what you hope to gain from the program, and whether this particular intensive is a good fit for your needs.

Grieving Forward is a supportive and educational experience that creates space for reflection, connection, and learning how to continue living while staying connected to the person you love. Some conversations and activities may bring up strong emotions, and participants are always encouraged to honor their own needs and boundaries throughout the experience.

This program is not therapy or a replacement for individualized mental health, medical, crisis, or emergency care. If it appears that you may need a different level or type of support right now, we will talk with you about that and encourage you to connect with the appropriate resources.

Our goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to carry your person forward with you as you continue living.
