A clinician, educator, speaker, veteran, and bereaved mother helping others carry love forward.
ABOUT ANGELA PRATHER, LMHC, NCC, CLC
Angela Prather, LMHC, NCC, CLC, is a Florida-licensed mental health counselor, educator, speaker, Navy veteran, and the founder of Carry Them Forward, LLC.
Her professional work has centered on grief, trauma, mental health, relationships, and the human need to be seen with honesty and compassion. She brings clinical training and practical experience to every program she develops, while recognizing that grief cannot be reduced to a worksheet, a stage, or a timetable.
After the death of her son, Alex, in 2025, Angela encountered grief not only as a clinician but as a mother living inside a loss that changed every part of her life. In the months that followed, one question became central: How do I keep being Alex’s mother?
The answer did not come through letting go. It came through learning to carry the relationship forward—through memory, meaning, continued connection, and the courage to keep living. That experience became the foundation of Carry Them Forward and the Grieving Forward Method.
Today, Angela helps bereaved adults understand that continuing to live does not mean leaving the person they love behind. Through intensives, virtual groups, workshops, speaking, and educational resources, she creates spaces where grief can be honest, love can remain present, and the future can be approached one meaningful step at a time.
Her work is informed by both professional practice and lived experience in bereavement.

In Memory of Alexander Kristoffer Chavis
August 22, 1990 – April 5, 2025
His life inspired this work. His love continues through it.
Angela's guiding belief:
Death ends a life—not a relationship. We can honor the past, nurture the future, and carry the people we love into the lives we continue to build.
